ASUS has launched Education Explorers today: a new campaign in collaboration with Intel to help students, educators, and IT administrators embrace the situation created by the pandemic and anticipate the future. Through this campaign, ASUS and Intel provide the solutions needed in education for problems that have arisen due to this new situation.

Educators are working hard to get their students back on track, while IT administrators are doing their best to provide students with the resources to continue learning seamlessly from home. Both groups benefit from the advice and expertise of a trusted partner to overcome these challenges. For this reason, ASUS offers assistance, in collaboration with Intel. Through a goal-driven program, specially designed products, and strategic partnerships, they provide the tools, support, and inspiration that schools need to get back on track and shape the future of education.

The classroom of tomorrow

The lessons learned after the mass shift to virtual teaching in 2020 provide insights into the development of tomorrow's education, and from the idea of answering the still-open questions, Education Explorers was born. To kick off Education Explorers, ASUS and Intel recently hosted an online panel to discover how technology pioneers think about designing future-proof educational solutions that resonate even after the pandemic. The panel was hosted by Natasha Alford from CNN and brought together leading figures to discuss ways to support students, parents, and educators - regardless of the classroom's location.

Among the panelists were Shelley Wu, Director of Enterprise & Education Solutions at ASUS, Cigdem Ertem, Global Director for Education and Public Sector Sales at Intel, and Jennie Magiera, author of Courageous Edventures and Head of Education Impact at Google. Actor and father Max Greenfield also contributed by speaking from the perspective of a parent whose child faced homeschooling during the pandemic.

Designed for explorers and education for all

As part of Education Explorers, ASUS has designed a series of education-focused laptops, desktops, and services to help students, parents, and educators navigate the education as it is currently delivered and the way it is expected in the future.

Thus, ASUS's education-focused devices are specifically developed to cater to diverse needs, such as enabling effective distance learning across multiple disciplines, including science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, as well as providing innovations and tools to make IT management easier.

Solutions for more effective distance learning

The pandemic has led to a decrease in traditional classroom lessons, and in many cases, they have completely disappeared. Therefore, it is important that the tools for digital learning are developed for this new reality, so that education can continue uninterrupted.

The ASUS ExpertBook B1 and the BR1100, for example, offer Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) technology that enables ultra-fast and stable speeds for online learning and smooth video collaboration. The ASUS BR1100 also offers the option to build in 4G LTE for a secure and fast mobile connection wherever you are - even when there is no WiFi connection available.

Students may also find themselves in situations where their concentration is hindered by unexpected background noises - ranging from everyday sounds from family members to abrupt and unexpected noises from pets or household appliances. That is why the ExpertBook B1 and the BR1100 have been developed with AI-powered 'noise-cancellation' technology. This built-in smart technology ensures that students can participate in online classes or other forms of communication without worrying about what is happening around them, as the technology automatically filters background noise for the clearest communication.

There are many other thoughtful features that are important for the new distance learning. For example, the foldable BR1100F's 'world-facing' camera. This is positioned in such a way that it is easy for students to capture their surroundings, while the military-grade durability of this and many other ASUS laptop models ensures that they are built to withstand the daily grind at home and on the go.

Solutions for simpler IT management

Moreover, the revolution brings challenges for the IT administration of employees. It is important to minimize downtime as much as possible, so that you can maximize learning time. What is also important is to keep the total cost of ownership as low as possible.

ASUS ExpertCenter D7 SFF is a compact desktop that can be opened without using tools. Both the hard drive and the optical disk drive can be easily pulled forward. The ExpertCenter D7 is powered by an Intel Core processor and is capable of performing multiple tasks simultaneously with ease.

The ASUS Chromebook CR1 features a modular design to replace key components, such as the keyboard, battery, thermal module, and I/O ports in no time using tools. The design is also durable, as the surface is scratch-resistant, has a spill-resistant keyboard, and a surrounding bumper to reduce the chances of children damaging the device. The CR1 is also able to automatically register itself as an IT network when the student or teacher connects to the internet.

Solutions to enhance STEAM

Today, STEM or STEAM ('science', 'technology', 'engineering', 'arts', and 'mathematics') subjects are crucial for education policy in many countries around the world. ASUS's mission is to empower students to learn and discover and to help them undertake great things in these disciplines and many others alongside. The right materials can help students discover their own creativity and develop their own problem-solving skills through animation, 'AI learning', 3D printing, and much more.

To facilitate these enriching experiences, the ASUS ExpertCenter desktop PCs are equipped with the latest high-performance Intel Core processors and graphics cards. They are subjected to leading Independent Software Vendor (ISV) certification to ensure that the devices work as expected with professional applications from the world's leading software companies.

Product availability
