Intensive test with six brands
For the test, white, non-iron cotton shirts from Seidensticker, Walbusch, Profuomo, Charles Tyrwhitt, Uniqlo, and OLYMP were examined. All models were comparable in design but were extensively evaluated on finishing, material quality, shape retention, and details such as seams, buttons, collars, and cuffs.
But that was not all. The shirts underwent a practical test lasting two days, during which wearing comfort, freedom of movement, fit, and odor development were assessed. The breathability capacity also played an important role in the assessment. Subsequently, the shirts were washed five times according to a strict protocol and dried again. During this testing phase, the fabrics were also subjected to typical stains, such as ballpoint ink, coffee, and synthetic sweat, to assess how well they withstand daily use.

OLYMP Luxor shirt offers the best overall package
According to the editorial team of Stern, the OLYMP Luxor shirt emerged as the clear winner of the test. The shirt absorbed hardly any odors during wear, remained largely wrinkle-free, and managed to maintain an exceptionally smooth result even after multiple washes. This combines practical advantages with a representative appearance that is also suitable for formal occasions.
In all categories, the shirt scored high, but especially in terms of finishing, wearing comfort, durability, and ease of maintenance, it distinguished itself. The retention of the white color and the wrinkle behavior during wear were also rated as particularly strong.
75 years of focus on quality and craftsmanship
According to owner and CEO Mark Bezner, this recognition is no coincidence. "For 75 years, OLYMP has stood for uncompromising quality in materials and finishing, combined with high wearing comfort and ease of maintenance. We strive for a strong price-quality ratio, a clear fashionable signature, and responsible entrepreneurship. This applies not only to our shirts but to our entire range. We are therefore particularly pleased with this excellent test result."

Proper maintenance extends lifespan
In addition to quality, maintenance also plays an important role in preserving an OLYMP Luxor shirt. OLYMP advises washing shirts inside out and folding the collars and cuffs inward while keeping the buttons closed. It is also wise not to overload the washing machine—no more than six shirts per wash—and to use the correct program and detergent according to the label.
After washing, it is important to let the OLYMP Luxor shirt dry immediately on a hanger, smoothing the collars, cuffs, and button closure by hand. Those who follow these steps can often skip ironing altogether. Even with OLYMP's 'easy-iron' lines, which are slightly less low-maintenance than the Luxor line due to their fashionable fabrics, light wrinkles often disappear on their own during wear. Body heat and tension restore the shirt's smooth appearance.
