Ready for launch
On October 16, the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X will be released in the Netherlands and Belgium. Prices and pre-order information will be announced soon.
The ROG Xbox Ally is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor with four Zen 2 cores, eight threads, and eight AMD RDNA 2 GPU cores. This is paired with 16GB LPDDR5X-6400 RAM, a 512GB SSD, and a 60Wh battery.
The ROG Xbox Ally X offers even more power with the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, a new eight-core/16-thread Zen 5 APU with 16 RDNA 3.5 GPU cores and integrated NPU. This model features 24GB LPDDR5X-8000 memory, a 1TB SSD, and a larger 80Wh battery for longer playtime. Click here for more information.
Optimized for handheld gaming
The Xbox team has worked behind the scenes with game studios to test and optimize thousands of PC titles for handhelds. Thanks to the new Handheld Compatibility Program, users will have the best possible experience from day one. In the game library, two new designations will be available: Handheld Optimized (immediately playable) and Mostly Compatible (minor adjustments needed).
Additionally, Xbox introduces advanced shader delivery on the ROG Xbox Ally, allowing shaders to be preloaded during download. This results in games starting up to 10 times faster, running smoother, and using less battery during the first play.
The ROG Xbox Ally X with Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme also unlocks new AI features starting early next year, including:
Automatic Super Resolution (Auto SR): a system feature that upscales games from lower resolution to higher image quality and smooth framerates.
Highlight reels: AI automatically captures epic gameplay moments and creates short clips to share with friends or on social media.

Visitors to Gamescom 2025 can experience the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X firsthand, along with the latest Strix, Zephyrus, and Flow laptops. Playable titles include Balatro, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, Gears of War: Reloaded, Hogwarts Legacy, Lies of P, and Roblox (including experiences like 99 Nights in the Forest, Grow a Garden, and Rivals).
Meet & greet at the ROG booth
In honor of the upcoming launch, ROG is once again bringing together Ned Luke and Shawn Fonteno - an iconic duo from the gaming world - for the latest ROG Travel video. Ned Luke reprises his role as the supervisor, while Shawn Fonteno plays a new colleague who sees the ROG Xbox Ally as the ticket to the ultimate gaming getaway in Allywood. Both actors will be present live at the booth to meet fans in person.
