The six new startups were selected based on team, business model, and product and will focus in the coming four months on eliminating market, legal, financial, and operational risks and realizing their business. Roel Raatgever, director of UtrechtInc is excited about the new batch of startups: 'It's a diverse group that is really willing to learn in this rollercoaster.' The teams will have plenty of learning to do. In the coming months, they will work on developing a prototype and having initial customer conversations. Last week, the teams already had a meeting with Eric Ries, the entrepreneur who launched the 'lean startup' concept. UtrechtInc is based on this and other methodological approaches to entrepreneurship.
