Two mobility start-ups, FIGO and Flytz Mobility, join forces to provide sustainable mobility for a lifetime - from the university campus to the boardroom. While Flytz focuses on the student market by offering various forms of (shared) mobility, FIGO does this for young professionals from fast-growing companies. Starting June 1, they will continue together under the name FIGO, with the goal of radically transforming the mobility experience for students and professionals.

This merger signifies a revolution in the way people move, from student life to their professional careers. "Flytz is the only one focusing on the student target group," says Renske Wytzes, co-founder of Flytz. "When these students graduate and get their first job, FIGO comes into play. With this merger, we extend the lifespan of a customer and ensure that users have access to the best mobility services during all important moments and life stages."

The story began in a place familiar to both: the start-up program Mobility Lab. Both companies, with their focus on innovative mobility solutions, discovered a shared vision and an overlapping target audience. "When we met last year, it clicked: there is a strengthening network effect in collaboration," says Joost Pompe, CEO of FIGO.

FIGO, which focuses on young professionals at fast-growing companies like YoungCapital and Booking.com, provides employees access to the best mobility services through one system. Our product is found interesting by young, fast-growing companies that want to attract and retain talent," says Joost Pompe, CEO of FIGO. "The young professional of 2023 wants maximum flexibility: getting on the train on Monday and checking in with our digital payment card in your mobile wallet, going to a client with a shared car on Tuesday, and using the shared scooter on the weekend."

Flytz Mobility, on the other hand, has revolutionized the student market by offering flexible mobility solutions. "Students must and can organize their mobility needs more flexibly. There are also significant societal benefits to be gained, as previous research shows. By introducing students to the benefits of shared mobility in an accessible way at a young age, they are much more likely to use it after their studies. If we can keep young people out of cars after their studies, cities will become significantly less congested," says founder Renske Wytzes of Flytz.

With the merger, the companies expect to respond even better to the needs of their customers. Starting this summer, just before the new academic year begins, the start-ups will operate together under the name FIGO Mobility. With this merger, FIGO and Flytz look forward to offering a revolution in mobility for all life stages, from campus to career.
